The most prolific and hard to manage by far are the humans.
Though many people ask "What do the kids think of
losing their pool?" we feel confident that depriving our kids of a pool
has had no detremental effects on their wellbeing.
Seriously, the kids love the pond and only miss the pool on
those half a dozen really hot days each summer.
(We try to take them to the public swimming pool or the beach on those
days.) They spend many happy hours pottering around in the pool
area with a net or some fish food. Their
friends are almost always curious and enjoy a quick tour or a spot of fishing.
The fish swarm on the surface when we drop in fish flakes or
even a dab of vegemite.
